Congressman Gabe Evans of Colorado’s 8th Congressional District voted in favor of a set of four appropriations bills that complete the Fiscal Year 2026 government funding process in the U.S. House. The legislative package, advanced as part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2026, covers key areas including Defense; Homeland Security; Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and Related Agencies (LHHS); and Transportation, Housing and Urban Development (THUD).
Evans said: “Today I proudly voted in favor of the final bipartisan appropriations package, to keep our government fully funded for fiscal year 2026. These four bills strengthen our national security, support America’s service members, promote a healthier nation, and empower local communities through economic development priorities. This package also delivers more than $18.9 million in direct funding for Colorado’s Eighth Congressional District, securing meaningful wins for my constituents and our state.”
The passage of these measures fulfills the House’s commitment to fully fund the federal government for FY26 while addressing national defense needs, border security policies, health care investment priorities, infrastructure modernization efforts, workforce development initiatives, and education projects.
Key provisions highlighted in the legislation include continued investments to maintain U.S. military readiness and superiority with pay raises for service members; restoration of strategic investments tied to previous administration priorities; increased resources for border security operations such as personnel training and technology upgrades at borders and ports; expanded support for biomedical research and medical supply chain resilience; enhanced rural hospital funding; improvements to transportation infrastructure such as roads, bridges, airports, air traffic control systems; as well as programs aimed at community economic development.
In addition to broader federal allocations affecting all states and districts nationwide, Evans secured over $18.9 million specifically targeted toward community projects within Colorado’s 8th District. Projects receiving funding include water infrastructure upgrades like Greeley’s Gold Hill Pipeline Project ($8.685 million), airport taxiway construction at Greeley-Weld County Airport ($3.5 million), safety enhancements along city roadways in Greeley ($850k) and Commerce City ($850k), capital improvement efforts in Brighton ($900k), road paving in Mead ($1 million), neighborhood mobility improvements in Thornton ($1 million), workforce training through Westminster Public Schools’ manufacturing pathways program ($1 million), and an oil-and-gas demonstration project at Aims Community College ($1.197 million).
With approval from the House completed on this bipartisan appropriations package for FY26, it will now move forward to consideration by the U.S. Senate.
