Congressman Gabe Evans, a U.S. Representative and Global War on Terror veteran, has recently used his social media platform to address national security, taxation policy in Colorado, and the ongoing fentanyl crisis.
On December 10, 2025, Evans announced his support for military personnel and national security initiatives. He stated, “Today I voted to support our men and women in uniform, and to strengthen America’s national security. The following day, December 11, 2025, Evans addressed Colorado Governor Jared Polis directly regarding state tax policy on overtime pay. In his post he wrote: “Hey @GovofCO, Aren’t you the guy who signed the bill earlier this year to re-tax overtime in Colorado… right after @HouseGOP passed the Working Families Tax Cut Act to end taxes on overtime at the federal level? Let’s be clear — you’re delivering anything but relief.”
Later that same day, Evans highlighted concerns about fentanyl-related deaths in the United States. Drawing from his experience as a veteran, he commented: “Every 15 days, fentanyl kills more Americans than were lost on 9/11. As a Global War on Terror veteran, keeping Americans safe from drug-trafficking terrorists is personal. I look forward to hearing from @Sec_Noem today in @HomelandGOP to discuss how we combat this crisis.”
Evans’ remarks come at a time of heightened debate over national defense funding and drug policy measures across the country.
