Congressman Gabe Evans has announced that his wife, Anne, will be his guest at the upcoming 2026 State of the Union Address. The event is expected to highlight recent national progress and recognize the families supporting public service.
Evans shared, “I’m proud to share that I will be bringing my wife, Anne to the State of the Union Address. Married for 17 years, she has been by my side through every chapter of our journey. Anne supported me during my 12 years in the Army, stood strong through an overseas deployment in the Global War on Terror, remained steadfast as I served our community for 10 years as a cop in Colorado, and has been my rock as I began my work in Congress.
My wife is my best friend, the mother of our two boys, and my biggest champion. Strong families are a core institution that enables our representative form of government, and our American Dream would not have been made possible without her steadfast wisdom, strength, and encouragement. Our American Dream would not have been made possible without her steadfast wisdom, strength, and encouragement.”
The State of the Union comes at what Evans describes as a pivotal time for the country. He points to actions taken by Republicans in Congress with President Donald Trump over the past year aimed at restoring stability for American families.
Evans highlighted several policy outcomes: tax cuts averaging $3,750 per filer for working families; an increase in the Child Tax Credit to $2,200 with permanence; lower mortgage rates reaching their lowest point in three years; passage of legislation intended to reduce housing costs; and inflation dropping to 2.4 percent from a previous peak of 9 percent.
Other areas mentioned include gas prices falling to a four-year low alongside new energy revenue gains; nine consecutive months without border releases and a sharp decrease in Border Patrol apprehensions compared to prior administration averages; private sector job growth with 172,000 jobs added in January; tax incentives for U.S.-made vehicles and manufacturing; support for small businesses through increased expense allowances; new election integrity requirements under the SAVE America Act; and reductions in violent crime reported by major city police departments between 2024 and 2025.
According to recent data from law enforcement organizations such as the Major Cities Chiefs Association, violent crime rates—including homicides—have dropped significantly across major cities like Denver over this period.
