Congressman Gabe Evans, who represents Colorado’s 8th congressional district and is a U.S. Army veteran, recently posted several statements on his official social media account regarding national security, energy policy, and military service.

On March 8, 2026, Evans reflected on his military experience following the Benghazi attack: “I deployed to a combat zone a week after Benghazi. I’ve seen what weakness signals to the world. Deterrence matters. Clear, decisive action — using air and naval power — prevents larger, longer wars and will protect our nation and allies.”

Addressing domestic energy production in Weld County on March 10, 2026, Evans stated: “Weld County is an energy powerhouse. I welcomed fellow Coloradan @SecretaryWright to #CO08 to see firsthand how our region helps power our state and the U.S. I’m proud to put American energy first —  ensuring we have reliable, affordable energy produced here at home to protect”.

Later that day, Evans honored a fallen soldier from Colorado: “Colorado pauses to honor Sgt. Benjamin N. Pennington of Fort Carson, who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the United States. As a fellow Army veteran, I know the bond of service and the weight of that oath. I have buried my friends — the men and women who have”.

Evans has emphasized both national defense through deterrence and support for American energy independence as key priorities during his tenure in Congress.
