Congressman Gabe Evans, U.S. Representative for Colorado’s 8th congressional district and a former police officer, recently used his Twitter account to highlight legislative actions and community engagement efforts.
On May 15, 2026, Evans announced his support for military and veterans’ funding, stating: “Today I voted to secure funding for FY27 Mil/CON/VA appropriations. Read my statement. https://t.co/biydjfXRFO”.
Later that day, during National Police Week, Evans reflected on a bipartisan resolution passed by the House of Representatives to honor law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty in 2025. He wrote: “During National Police Week, the House passed a bipartisan resolution honoring law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty in 2025. As a former cop, this is deeply personal to me. We will never forget the brave men and women who gave their lives https://t.co/0ohNIlAvoG”.
On May 18, Evans shared an update about visiting a local business in Johnstown: “I really enjoyed stopping by Johnstown Barber and meeting with the team. Stephanie Podtburg has built more than just a successful small business — she’s deeply invested in the future of the Johnstown community and continues working to help the area grow.”
Evans represents Colorado’s newly created 8th congressional district and has served since January 2025 after winning election in November 2024. As noted on his official biography, he previously worked as both an Army officer and police officer before entering Congress.
