Northern Colorado men’s golf finished in a tie for 19th place at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic, according to an April 1 announcement. The event took place in Maricopa, Arizona, and featured teams from across the country.
The tournament matters as it provides a benchmark for the team’s progress during the spring season and offers individual players a chance to compete against strong collegiate fields.
Cooper Tate led the Bears by finishing tied for 33rd overall with a score of one under par over three rounds. His performance was one of the top individual results for Northern Colorado in this event. Kaelen Dulany also contributed with a tie for 53rd place at two over par, while Matias Koropeski finished tied for 77th at six over par. Rowan MacDonald and Thomas Barnes Grimes completed the team lineup, tying for 110th (+14) and 118th (+16), respectively.
The team leaderboard saw Southern California take first place, followed by Arkansas State and Grand Canyon University rounding out the top three. Northern Colorado shared its position on the leaderboard with Fresno State.
Looking ahead, “The Bears aim to keep building momentum as they progress through the spring season and gear up for their final tournament ahead of the Big Sky Conference Tournament.” The program is supported by initiatives like The Up & Down Club which “strengthens UNC Men’s Golf by providing resources that elevate the student-athlete experience—supporting travel, enhancing opportunities and elevated nutrition to help the Bears compete at a high level.” Fans are encouraged to follow updates on social media.
