Northern Colorado wrapped up the 2026 Big Sky Indoor Track & Field Championships in Pocatello, Idaho, on Saturday with notable performances, including a conference title and several podium finishes as the indoor season concluded.
On the women’s team, Camaria Corder won the Big Sky title in the triple jump, achieving a distance of 12.66 meters (41’6.50″). Her victory was a highlight for Northern Colorado and contributed significant points to the team’s total. Alexia Austin placed fifth in the 60-meter hurdles final with a time of 8.49 seconds. Monique Stewart secured sixth place in the 800 meters, finishing in 2:12.31. Lucy Varela competed in the mile event, clocking 5:23.07, while Claire Nowels represented Northern Colorado in the 3000 meters with a time of 10:41.11.
The women’s 4×400-meter relay team—Stewart, Donice Bruno-Ezealah, Alison Hoodak, and Caydence Brewer—finished ninth with a time of 3:54.61.
Northern Colorado’s women’s team ended eighth overall with 32 points. Northern Arizona won the women’s team championship with 164.5 points; Montana State and Montana finished second and third respectively.
For the men’s events, Daniel Beckford earned second place in the 60-meter hurdles by finishing in 7.87 seconds, contributing key points for his team. Jaydon Sundbye also scored in this event by placing sixth at 8.32 seconds.
Raphael Egbuchilem delivered a strong showing by finishing fourth in the 400 meters at 47.93 seconds and later anchored his relay teammates Christopher Cheatham, Johnny Fisher, and Edgar Garcia to fifth place in the men’s 4×400-meter relay (3:14.98).
Tyler Rogers achieved third place in high jump by clearing a height of 2.04 meters (6’8.25″). Kaliff Guevara finished ninth in triple jump with a mark of 14.14 meters (46’4.75″).
Northern Colorado’s men’s team also finished eighth overall with a total of 36 points while Northern Arizona claimed first place with a score of 200 points; Montana State and Montana completed the top three.
The Relay Club continues to support UNC Track & Field and Cross Country programs through enhanced training resources and travel opportunities aimed at improving both athletic performance and student-athlete experience.
