Congressman Gabe Evans, who represents Colorado’s 8th congressional district, addressed issues of crime, economic productivity, cost of living, and the National Guard in a series of posts on December 13, 2025.
In his first post at 01:00 UTC, Evans stated that “When political rhetoric incites violence, cops & minority communities pay the price. CO has lost $27B in economic productivity, as a result of crime. #CO08 deserves to safely live, work, & raise a family. As your representative, I won’t stop fighting until that’s delivered.”
Later that day at 19:03 UTC, he commented on housing and living costs in Colorado: “Colorado now ranks 2nd and 3rd highest in the nation for the cost of living and housing affordability. Being so far out of the national norm is a direct result of @GovofCO and state Democrats reckless, out-of-touch policies that prioritize regulations over working families.”
At 21:02 UTC on the same day, Evans marked an anniversary with a message to service members: “Happy Birthday to the National Guard. As a proud National Guard veteran, I have seen firsthand the heart and sacrifice of the citizen soldiers who serve both their state and nation. Thank you to all who serve both at home and abroad. Always ready, always there.”
Evans’ statements come amid ongoing concerns about public safety and rising living costs in Colorado. He attributes recent increases in crime-related losses and high housing expenses to policy decisions by state leadership.
