Congressman Gabe Evans has recently taken to social media to voice his opinions on energy policy and health care legislation. In a series of posts published between December 16 and December 17, 2025, Evans addressed Colorado’s energy costs, criticized local Democratic leadership, and highlighted Republican legislative efforts.
On December 16, Evans addressed Colorado Governor Jared Polis directly regarding state energy policies. He wrote, “Hey @GovofCO! Isn’t it wonderful what happens when we implement Republican policies that support reliable and affordable American energy? You’re welcome.”
The following day, Evans commented on recent rate increases by Xcel Energy in Colorado. He stated, “Under Colorado Democrats, Xcel Energy is increasing rates by nearly 10% — and at the same time threatening days-long power shutoffs. So let me get this straight: Coloradans are paying higher costs for less reliability? Absolutely unacceptable.”
Later on December 17, Evans shared his support for a health care bill in Congress. He posted, “Proud to stand alongside @RepMMM and @HouseGOP in voting for the Lower Health Care Premiums for All Americans Act which delivers real relief by lowering premiums, increasing transparency, and expanding affordable health care. Republicans are once again putting Americans first.”
Evans represents Colorado’s 8th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives. His recent comments come amid ongoing debates over rising utility costs in Colorado and national discussions about health care affordability.
