Congressman Gabe Evans, who represents Colorado’s 8th Congressional District, posted a series of tweets on January 14, 2026, addressing issues related to drug enforcement, state energy policy, and recent legislative action.

In his first post of the day, Evans questioned Colorado’s approach to drug trafficking enforcement. He wrote: “With 10% of all fentanyl pills in the nation being seized in Colorado by federal law enforcement, tell me again how we’re not a drug trafficking sanctuary state, @GovofCO?” (January 14, 2026).

Later that evening, Evans criticized energy policies enacted by Colorado Democrats. He stated: “Years of extreme mandates from Colorado Democrats have left #CO08 families paying more while our grid grows weaker and reliable energy is forced offline. Families deserve safe, affordable, reliable energy — not forced political agendas.” (January 14, 2026).

Evans also commented on legislative matters before Congress. In a third tweet that day he announced: “Today, I voted YES on H.R. 7006. This @housegop bill cuts hundreds of millions in wasteful foreign spending, stops funding for terrorists & cartels, cracks down on fentanyl, reins in the IRS, & restores fiscal sanity. It puts American families, safety & accountability first.” (January 14, 2026).

Evans has previously voiced concerns over both public safety and the economic impacts of regulatory decisions affecting his district.
