Congressman Gabe Evans, who represents Colorado’s 8th Congressional District, has recently used his social media platform to comment on public safety and economic issues in Colorado. In a series of posts made between December 4 and December 5, 2025, Evans addressed concerns ranging from crime to fuel prices.
On December 4, Evans directed criticism at the Colorado Attorney General regarding crime and public safety. He wrote, “.@CoAttnyGeneral, in between all your grandstanding, any plans to keep regular Colorado families and kids safe from career criminals out on parole driving stolen cars?”
Later that day, Evans commented on the cost of living in Colorado compared to national trends. He stated on December 4, “Costs are down nationally, but up in places like Colorado and California . . . I’m sure it has nothing to do with disastrous Colorado Democrat policies that strangle our economy with fees and the 6th highest amount of red tape in the nation. “ According to recent reports, Colorado ranks among the states with some of the highest regulatory burdens for businesses.
On December 5, Evans shared positive news about gasoline prices in Denver. He posted, “Good News for Coloradans! Despite State Democrats’ war on oil and gas, Denver’s prices at the pump are dropping sharply, now 56¢ cheaper than the national average. @houseGOP is working to fix Democrats’ affordability crisis in #CO08 and across America.” Data from late 2025 confirms that Denver’s average gas prices have fallen below the national average by a significant margin.
Evans’ remarks reflect ongoing debates over crime rates and economic policy in Colorado. The state has experienced an increase in auto thefts over recent years, prompting discussions among lawmakers about criminal justice reforms. Additionally, Colorado’s regulatory environment is frequently cited by business groups as one of the more complex among U.S. states.
