Congressman Gabe Evans, who represents Colorado’s 8th Congressional District, shared a series of updates on his official X (formerly Twitter) account in late January 2026.

On January 24, Evans announced his appointment to a new council, stating, “Honored to be named to the E-15 Rural Domestic Energy Council by @SpeakerJohnson. This council is focused on protecting oil, gas, and ag jobs. Crafting policies to grow the energy and ag economy in CO-08 is a top priority of mine!”

The following day, he congratulated members of his former military unit after their participation in a public event: “Congrats to my old unit, 2-135th GSAB, led by my friend and mentor Mike Antinora, for a great flyover of the game. Broncos Country, let’s ride!!” The reference highlights Evans’ background as a veteran.

Later on January 25 during National School Choice Week, Evans commented on education policy: “National School Choice Week is about one simple truth: kids learn best when families have options. As someone who was homeschooled and whose children have attended charter schools, public schools, and homeschool, I know no child should be limited by their zip code.”

Evans’ remarks reflect ongoing national debates about energy policy and school choice. His recent appointment aligns with legislative efforts to support rural economies through energy sector growth and agricultural job protection. National School Choice Week is an annual event promoting awareness about educational options available to families across the United States.
