Congressman Gabe Evans, who represents Colorado’s 8th Congressional District, has shared a series of posts highlighting recent legislative achievements and personal reflections on public service.
On January 23, 2026, Evans announced his support for government funding and investments in his district. In his post, he stated, “I voted to fully fund the government for FY26 and secured $18.9M in direct funding for #CO08 — investing in roads, airports, public safety, education, and workforce development across Northern Colorado. These are real results. “
Later that day, Evans expressed gratitude for being recognized by an advocacy group. He wrote on January 23, 2026: “Proud to be named a 2026 Policy Champion by @ACCAction. Reindustrializing America, promoting active forest management, and advancing commonsense conservation policies go hand in hand. “
On January 24, 2026, Evans reflected on his career and commitment to service: “I’ve worn the same pair of police boots for the last 14 years – in fact, they’re on their third set of soles. It keeps me grounded and it reminds me why I’m here. Whether it be as a combat veteran, a cop, or a member of congress, I’m proud to serve Colorado and my country.”
Evans’ efforts to secure nearly $19 million in direct federal funding are intended to benefit infrastructure projects such as transportation improvements and public safety initiatives throughout Northern Colorado’s 8th district. This region has experienced significant population growth since its creation following the 2020 census.
The recognition from ACC Action as a “Policy Champion” reflects Evans’ focus on economic revitalization measures including reindustrialization and environmental management policies.
Before entering Congress, Evans served both as a police officer and as a combat veteran—a background he referenced in his remarks about personal dedication to public service.
