Senior shortstop Krista Francia has been named the Big Sky Softball Player of the Week after leading Northern Colorado to a 2-1 record over the weekend, according to an April 6 announcement.
Francia’s performance was key for the Bears, as she recorded a .545 batting average with six hits in eleven at-bats. She also drove in eight runs and scored four times. Her contributions included four extra-base hits—a double, triple, and home run—and she finished with a slugging percentage of 1.182 while playing error-free defense.
The recognition highlights her role in helping Northern Colorado achieve success on the field this season. The award is given weekly to players who show outstanding performance within the Big Sky Conference.
The Rally Starters Club supports UNC Softball by providing training resources, advanced technology, and travel opportunities that aim to enhance both athletic and academic experiences for student-athletes.
