Northern Colorado finished its regular season with a loss to Oral Roberts on May 16 at Jackson Field in Greeley, Colorado.

The game saw Oral Roberts build early momentum by stringing together timely hits in the opening innings. Northern Colorado responded in the fifth inning when Zeke Minic singled and Brett Barber doubled, setting up Brandon Sanchez for a double that drove in two runs.

The Bears continued to compete through the later innings, capitalizing on an error and aggressive base running. Ethan Mooser scored, and Mason Griffin added an RBI single that brought home Sam Pease. Sanchez led Northern Colorado’s offense with two runs batted in, while Barber contributed a double and scored a run. Griffin also recorded an RBI, and Jake Bullard had multiple hits. The team totaled seven hits and drew five walks.

On the pitching side, Jake Storey started for Northern Colorado, with Lucas Stone providing relief innings. Logan Borboa made a strong appearance out of the bullpen, recording five strikeouts against Oral Roberts.

Looking ahead, Northern Colorado will now prepare for postseason play as it enters the Summit League Tournament next week.
