Northern Colorado baseball lost to Air Force on April 8 at Erdle Field in Colorado Springs, after falling behind early in the game.
The outcome was shaped by a strong start from Air Force, which scored four runs in the first inning and three more in the second. Northern Colorado responded with a solo home run from Jake Bullard in the second inning but could not overcome the early deficit.
Throughout the game, Northern Colorado collected seven hits. Bullard led with a home run and an RBI. Wilson Kieffer added two hits, including a double, while Brandon Sanchez contributed with a hit, an RBI, and two walks. The Bears managed single runs in the fifth, seventh, and eighth innings thanks to RBI contributions from Brett Barber, Kieffer, and Sanchez.
On the pitching side, starter Lucas Stone allowed four runs in his opening frame and took the loss. Relief pitchers Mason Bright and Logan Borboa combined for four scoreless innings late in the game.
Northern Colorado will next play at Jackson Field as they host North Dakota State for a three-game conference series beginning Friday afternoon.
