Northern Colorado baseball lost to No. 4 Arkansas 9–4 in a midweek series finale on March 18, despite a late push in the eighth inning.
The game was significant as Northern Colorado faced a top-ranked opponent and attempted to overcome an early deficit. The Bears’ effort to rally highlights their resilience against strong competition.
Arkansas took control early, scoring three runs in the first three innings and adding two more in the fourth. The Razorbacks finished with nine runs on eleven hits, while their starter Peyton Lee held Northern Colorado to just one hit over five scoreless innings and struck out six batters. Northern Colorado managed only five hits overall but scored four runs in the eighth inning, including a two-run home run by Brandon Sanchez and a two-run hit from Sam Pease. Brien Kenny, Ethan Mooser, and Easton Bryant each contributed a hit for the Bears.
Logan Moser started for Northern Colorado and allowed three runs over 2.1 innings, taking the loss. Several pitchers followed but were unable to contain Arkansas’s offense.
Looking ahead, Northern Colorado will continue its road trip with a Summit League series against Omaha starting Friday, March 20.
