Northern Colorado baseball lost a close contest to Oral Roberts by a score of 3-2 on April 3 at Chapman Park in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The game was marked by strong pitching from Reece Wagner, who delivered seven shutout innings for Northern Colorado. Wagner allowed only three hits and struck out five batters while working around four walks. His performance kept Oral Roberts off the scoreboard through most of the game.
Jaden Stone drove in the first run for Northern Colorado in the third inning, giving the Bears an early lead. The team added another run in the fifth inning. Brett Barber contributed with three hits in four at-bats at the top of the lineup, and Stone finished with two hits and one run batted in.
Oral Roberts rallied late, scoring three runs in the eighth inning to take their first lead of the day. Despite matching Oral Roberts with eight hits overall, Northern Colorado was unable to regain control before time ran out.
