Northern Colorado lost its series finale to South Dakota State on March 29 at Jackson Field in Greeley. The Jackrabbits scored runs in each of the first four innings, building a lead that Northern Colorado could not overcome.
The outcome highlights challenges faced by the Bears, who were limited to three hits during the game. Mason Griffin provided some offense for Northern Colorado with a two-run single in the fifth inning. Logan Pruski contributed a double and a walk, finishing one-for-two with a run scored, while Sam Pease added another hit for the team.
Despite drawing five walks and getting runners on base, Northern Colorado was unable to take advantage against South Dakota State’s pitching staff. On the mound, Lucas Stone started for the Bears as several pitchers saw action throughout the game.
Looking ahead, Northern Colorado will travel to Colorado Springs for a midweek matchup against Air Force at Erdle Field. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time.
