Northern Colorado baseball will begin a four-game homestand at Jackson Field, starting with a matchup against Air Force on April 28, followed by Summit League games against Omaha. The team announced the schedule on Apr. 27 and noted that first pitch against Air Force is scheduled for 3 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time.
The homestand provides an opportunity for the Bears to regroup after splitting a weather-shortened series against South Dakota State. Brandon Sanchez led Northern Colorado in that series, hitting .500 with five runs batted in and showing strong defensive play.
The Bears have maintained a .271 team batting average this season, with notable contributions from Jaden Stone (.355), Logan Pruski (.319), and Wilson Kieffer (.327). The team has drawn 160 walks and holds a .965 fielding percentage. Pitchers Jake Storey, Reece Wagner, and Ethan Louthan have provided experience on the mound.
Air Force enters the game with a 21–20 record overall (12–6 in conference play) and has been undefeated at home but holds a losing record on the road. Their offense is hitting .311 as a group with power hitters like Wyatt Hanoian, Ben Niednagel, and Tripp Garrish leading the way.
Omaha arrives at Jackson Field holding a 14–21 overall record (9–8 in Summit League). The Mavericks are batting .277 as a team, led by Jackson Trout (.375) and Henry Zipay (.348), while their pitching staff carries an earned run average of 6.48.
