Northern Colorado baseball will return to Jackson Field for a three-game conference series against South Dakota State starting March 27. The first game is scheduled for Friday at 2 p.m., with games on Saturday and Sunday set to begin at noon.

The matchup holds importance as both teams look to improve their standing in conference play. Fans can watch the games via live stream on Midco Sports, with live statistics available throughout each contest.

In their most recent outing, Northern Colorado secured a series win over Omaha by taking two out of three games. The Bears started strong with an 11-4 victory, highlighted by a 14-hit performance from Logan Pruski, Easton Bryant, and Jaden Stone. Although they lost the second game in extra innings, UNC bounced back in the finale with another extra-inning win thanks to Mason Griffin’s go-ahead RBI and solid relief pitching.

Heading into the weekend, Northern Colorado has a conference record of 3-2 and is batting .275 as a team. Pruski (.343) and Zeke Minic (.367) lead offensively while the team has collected 240 hits this season. Defensively, they hold a .965 fielding percentage and have recorded 178 strikeouts on the mound.

South Dakota State enters the series with an overall record of 7-17 and a Summit League mark of 2-4. Key players include Owen Siegert (.337) and Nolan Grawe (.323), contributing to the team’s .260 batting average and .369 on-base percentage. SDSU pitchers have combined for a team earned run average of 7.31.

Historically, South Dakota State leads the all-time series against Northern Colorado by one game (28-27 since 2001). In their last meeting in May last year, SDSU won by eight runs; however, UNC has won seven out of their last ten matchups against them.

After this homestand concludes, Northern Colorado will travel for midweek action against Air Force before resuming conference play versus Oral Roberts.
