Northern Colorado baseball will travel to Brookings, South Dakota, for a three-game Summit League series against South Dakota State starting April 24. The games will be held at Erv Huether Field, with the first matchup scheduled for Friday at 2 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time and the final game set for Sunday at 1 p.m.

The series is significant as Northern Colorado aims to continue its recent strong performance in league play. The Bears enter the weekend after back-to-back series wins, including a notable victory over St. Thomas in a record-setting 21-inning game that ended with an 8-7 score—the longest contest in Summit League history.

The Bears have shown strength both offensively and defensively this season. Their team batting average stands at .269, led by Jaden Stone with a .355 average and Logan Pruski hitting .327. The lineup has demonstrated depth and aggressive base running while maintaining steady defense with a .964 fielding percentage. Northern Colorado currently holds third place in the Summit League standings.

South Dakota State comes into the series with an overall record of 12-24 and is 6-9 in conference games. The Jackrabbits have a team batting average of .265 and an on-base percentage of .382, featuring consistent hitters such as Nolan Grawe and Owen Siegert. Defensively, they hold a fielding percentage of .976 but have struggled on the mound with a team earned run average of 7.68.

After completing their road trip against SDSU, Northern Colorado will return home to face Air Force before hosting Omaha for another three-game set at Jackson Field.
