Northern Colorado baseball defeated Omaha, 11-7, on May 1 at Jackson Field in Greeley, Colorado. The Bears secured their third consecutive win after a surge in the middle innings.

The game was decided in the bottom of the sixth inning when Northern Colorado scored eight runs on seven hits. This rally allowed them to overcome a two-run deficit and take control of the game. The team finished with a total of 17 hits.

Sam Pease led the offense by going 3-for-5 with a home run, double, and three runs batted in. Mason Griffin also contributed three hits, including a triple and three runs batted in. Brandon Sanchez and Logan Pruski each recorded three hits as well; Sanchez drove in two runs while Pruski added another.

Omaha took an early lead by scoring three runs in the first inning, but Northern Colorado responded with single runs across several innings before their decisive sixth-inning performance. Reece Wagner earned the win for Northern Colorado after pitching six and two-thirds innings and striking out six batters while allowing five runs. Logan Borboa came on as relief to secure the final four outs and earn the save.

The team will look to extend its winning streak further when it faces Omaha again for game two of the series at Jackson Field.
