Northern Colorado Bears head baseball coach Mike Anderson has announced the team’s 2026 schedule, which features a series of challenging matchups in both non-conference and Summit League play. Anderson stated that putting together such a demanding schedule is part of the program’s commitment to competing against strong opponents each year.
The Bears will begin their season with a lengthy 19-game road trip. Their first series is against Wichita State from February 13–15, followed by games at New Mexico and Utah Tech. Additional stops on the opening road stretch include contests at UNLV and Utah Valley before the team returns home to Greeley.
Northern Colorado’s first home games will be held at Jackson Field, where they open Summit League play with a three-game series against St. Thomas from March 13–15. This marks their return to Greeley after more than a month away.
After this homestand, the Bears travel to face Arkansas for two games on March 17–18. They then continue conference play with a three-game set at Nebraska Omaha before returning home for another league series against South Dakota State from March 27–29.
Throughout April and May, Northern Colorado alternates between home and away games, facing teams including Oral Roberts, North Dakota State, St. Thomas, Air Force, Omaha, and South Dakota State. The regular season concludes with a home series against Oral Roberts from May 14–16.
Postseason competition starts with the Summit League Tournament in St. Thomas from May 20–23. If successful, the team could advance to NCAA Regional action (May 29–June 1), Super Regionals (June 5–8), and potentially compete in the NCAA College World Series in Omaha scheduled for June 15–22.
Coach Anderson commented on the approach behind this year’s schedule: “Constructing a demanding schedule like this reflects the program’s ongoing goal to face strong competition every season.”
