The Bears are currently on a three-game winning streak and aim to extend it to four with this non-conference contest. Their latest victory was a 71–60 road win over Omaha at Baxter Arena. Although Omaha tied the score by the end of the first period, UNC regained control in the second quarter, led by Tatum West’s quick scoring and rebounding efforts. By halftime, West had secured 10 rebounds—seven of them offensive—while Powell led all scorers with 11 points, giving UNC a 30–22 lead at the break.
In the second half, Northern Colorado managed to maintain its lead despite several attempts by Omaha to close the gap. Key plays from Aniah Hall and Riley during the fourth quarter helped secure the win for UNC.
The last meeting between these two teams took place on November 7 of last season, when Colorado won 81–66 at home. Historically, Colorado has a seven-game advantage in their series dating back to November 28, 2007.
