Northern Colorado defeated Omaha 11–4 on March 20, delivering a strong offensive performance and solid pitching to secure the win in Omaha, Nebraska.
The game was marked by Northern Colorado’s consistent hitting throughout the lineup. Brett Barber contributed two hits and scored twice, while Jake Bullard also had two hits and drove in a run. Logan Pruski went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored, helping to keep innings alive for the Bears.
Easton Bryant led the team with three runs batted in on a 2-for-5 day that included an extra-base hit. Jaden Stone added three RBIs despite recording just one hit, and Brandon Sanchez chipped in with two hits and two RBIs. The Bears’ aggressive baserunning resulted in multiple stolen bases from Stone, Pruski, Ethan Mooser, and Sanchez.
On the mound, Reece Wagner started for Northern Colorado and pitched 5.2 innings, allowing four runs on seven hits while working around four walks. Trevor Landen finished the game by throwing 3.1 scoreless innings without giving up a hit and striking out three batters.
Looking ahead, Northern Colorado will play game two of the series against Omaha with first pitch scheduled for 3 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time.
