Northern Colorado’s baseball team lost 6–4 to Utah Tech on Sunday in St. George, Utah, after a walk-off grand slam ended the game at Bruce Hurst Field.
The Bears recorded 11 hits and maintained offensive pressure throughout the contest. Jaden Stone led the team with four hits in as many at-bats, adding an RBI and a sacrifice bunt. Logan Pruski contributed by going 2-for-3, driving in one run with a double and drawing two walks.
Northern Colorado erased an early two-run deficit in the fifth inning. Easton Bryant hit a two-run single, followed by Pruski’s RBI double to tie the score at 2–2. After Utah Tech took back the lead, pinch hitter Ethan Sanchez reached base and scored in the eighth inning to even things up again at 4–4.
On the pitching side, Brady Hudson started for Northern Colorado and allowed two runs over four innings while striking out four batters. Relievers Mason Bright and Mitch Haythorn kept the game close before Utah Tech secured victory with a grand slam in the ninth.
Northern Colorado will continue its road trip with a two-game series against UNLV in Las Vegas starting Tuesday, March 3.
