Northern Colorado men’s golf completed the first round of play at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic on March 31, with competition paused during the second round in Maricopa, Arizona.

The tournament is set to resume and finish with rounds two and three on Wednesday, April 1. The Bears currently hold 19th place as a team after the opening round. Cooper Tate led Northern Colorado with a score of one-under-par 71, placing him in 39th position individually. Kaelen Dulany and Matias Koropeski both contributed solid performances, ending the day tied for 62nd and adding depth to the team’s lineup.

Rowan MacDonald and Thomas Barnes Grimes rounded out Northern Colorado’s scoring group after completing their first rounds in 106th and 114th places respectively. With two more rounds left to play, Northern Colorado will aim to improve its standing when play resumes at Southern Dunes Golf Club.

According to results from Tuesday’s opening round, USC leads the team leaderboard. Grand Canyon and Arkansas State are tied for second place, followed by Iowa State in fourth. The Bears’ position leaves them ahead of several other teams as they look forward to continuing competition.
