Northern Colorado men’s golf finishes third at Big Sky Championship

Northern Colorado men’s golf secured a third-place finish at the Big Sky Conference Championship on Apr. 29, closing out the tournament with their best round at Wigwam Resort in Litchfield, Arizona.

The team posted a final score of 857 (seven under par) after rounds of 293, 286, and a final-round 278 (nine under par), improving each day to end strong against conference opponents.

Kaelen Dulany led Northern Colorado with an impressive performance, shooting a six-under-par 66 in the final round and finishing third overall at seven under for the championship. Thomas Barnes Grimes also contributed significantly by tying for sixth place at four under par after recording a four-under-par 68 in his last round.

Cooper Tate and Matias Koropeski both tied for sixteenth place at two over par. Tate shot a one-over-par 73 while Koropeski finished with an even-par 72 during the final round. Tommie Clark rounded out the lineup by tying for twenty-third place with a total score of seven over par after posting a one-over-par 73.

In the team standings, Sacramento State took first place at twenty-three under par, followed by Idaho at fourteen under. Northern Colorado’s steady improvement throughout the tournament highlights their competitive presence within the conference field.
