Northern Colorado men’s golf team is set to compete in the Golden Nugget Invitational, beginning Monday, March 2, in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The tournament, hosted by Lamar University at The Country Club at the Golden Nugget, will be the third event of the spring season for the Bears.

The team enters the competition after finishing eighth out of 21 teams at the Loyola Intercollegiate in Goodyear, Arizona. Individual performances from Thomas Barnes Grimes and Kaelen Dulany contributed to their recent success.

The Golden Nugget Invitational will feature 11 teams representing various conferences. Northern Colorado aims to use its recent experience to continue performing well as it faces a competitive field.

Teams participating in the tournament include Abilene Christian, Lamar, Oakland, Tarleton State, Troy, Houston, Louisiana Monroe, Northern Colorado, South Carolina Upstate, Texas at San Antonio, and Wichita State.

Northern Colorado’s lineup for this event consists of Kaelen Dulany, Cooper Tate, Thomas Barnes Grimes, Tommie Clark, and Matias Koropreski. Rowan MacDonald will compete as an individual.

Support for the program comes from the Up & Down Club. “The Up & Down Club strengthens UNC Men’s Golf by providing resources that elevate the student-athlete experience—supporting travel, enhancing opportunities and elevated nutrition to help the Bears compete at a high level. Your investment ensures the program continues building a strong foundation for sustained success.”
