Northern Colorado men’s basketball secured a 71-53 win over Air Force at Clune Arena on Wednesday, improving its record to 6-1 for the season. The Bears’ strong second-half performance was key to their victory, as they scored 43 points after halftime and widened a four-point lead into a comfortable margin.

Forward Brock Wisne played a significant role in the game, scoring 20 points and grabbing eight rebounds. Wisne entered the contest needing nine points to reach the 1,000-point milestone for his college career. He achieved this early in the second half and now has a total of 1,011 career points. This makes him the 26th player in Northern Colorado history to surpass the 1,000-point mark.

Quinn Denker also contributed significantly with 23 points and eight assists, including three successful three-pointers. His playmaking helped drive Northern Colorado’s offense throughout the game.

Air Force started well and led by three late in the first half before Northern Colorado responded with a run to take a four-point lead into halftime. The Bears shot nearly 46 percent from the field during that period while limiting Air Force’s long-range shooting.

The momentum shifted further in Northern Colorado’s favor early in the second half when Denker converted a three-point play and Wisne scored his milestone basket. From there, Northern Colorado extended its advantage, leading by as many as twelve with just over eight minutes left in regulation.

Northern Colorado finished the second half shooting over 60 percent from the field while holding Air Force to just three made three-pointers for the entire game. Bloch added support off the bench with 11 points, three assists, and three steals.

Looking ahead, Northern Colorado will host Regis on Saturday at Bank of Colorado Arena. Fans who bring canned food items will receive free admission; donations will benefit local organizations including Bear Pantry and Weld County Food Bank.
