Northern Colorado softball will host Weber State for its last regular-season series at Gloria Rodriguez Field, according to an April 22 announcement. The three-game matchup is set to begin with a doubleheader on Friday, April 24, starting at 2 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time, followed by a second game at 4:30 p.m., and will conclude on Saturday, April 25, with first pitch scheduled for noon.
This series holds significance as Northern Colorado prepares for the upcoming Big Sky Conference tournament. The Bears currently have a record of 20-25 overall and are even in conference play at six wins and six losses. As a team, they are batting .295 across the season’s 45 games.
Five regular starters from Northern Colorado have maintained batting averages above .300 this year. Head coach Dedeann Pendleton-Helm has reached her ninety-second career win with the program—the second most in its history—and continues to approach Shana Easley’s record of one hundred ten wins. Morales continues to add to her individual records as one of the top hitters in program history; she leads categories including doubles (58), home runs (32), RBI (142), walks (112), batting average (.424), on-base percentage (.626), and total bases (359). Gonzales also ranks among program leaders in several offensive categories.
Weber State enters the weekend with an overall record of thirteen wins and thirty-six losses, including four wins against eight losses within conference play. The Wildcats hold a team batting average of .275 but have allowed seventy-one home runs this season while maintaining a fielding percentage of .955.
The series includes special events such as Alumni Day during Friday’s opener and Senior Day during Saturday’s finale.
