Northern Colorado’s track and field teams delivered strong performances at a recent indoor meet in Boulder, Colorado, with athletes on both the women’s and men’s sides achieving event titles and notable program marks.
For the women, Caydence Brewer secured first place in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.76 seconds and finished second in the 400 meters at 57.11 seconds. The Bears showed depth in the 60-meter dash as Alison Hoodak placed third (7.96) and Donice Bruno-Ezealah took fifth (8.04). In the hurdles, Alexia Austin won the event in 8.70 seconds, while Sherika Thomas was runner-up at 8.71 seconds—a result that places her sixth all-time in Northern Colorado history for that event. Ezealah also finished third in the hurdles with a time of 8.96 seconds.
In distance events, Claire Nowels led Northern Colorado runners in the mile by finishing fifth with a time of 5:17.42, followed closely by teammates Jessica Wilson, Ania Magdesian, and Lucy Varela.
On the men’s side, Edgar Garcia was runner-up in the 60 meters (6.93) before winning the 200 meters with a time of 21.63 seconds. Johnny Fisher claimed third place in the 60 meters (7.01), while Jaydon Sundbye took second in the 60-meter hurdles (8.48). In the 400 meters, Christopher Cheatham led four Bears who finished under 51 seconds.
Noah Osmond ran a mile time of 4:18.26 to become eighth all-time at Northern Colorado for that distance; Aaron Roll followed with a time of 4:22.90.
The next competition for Northern Colorado will be at the Big Sky Conference Indoor Championships from February 26-28 in Pocatello, Idaho.
