Northern Colorado volleyball secured the 2025 Big Sky Championship Tournament title on Wednesday night by defeating Idaho State in three sets at the Bank of Colorado Arena. This victory marks the program’s eighth conference championship and grants them an automatic entry into the NCAA Tournament.

The Bears began the match with a strong 7–0 run in the first set, led by aggressive serving and effective play from Bella Van Lannen and Zoe Gibbs. Despite a response from Idaho State, Northern Colorado maintained control to win the opening set 25–20. Gibbs contributed five kills in this set.

In the second set, Idaho State gained an early lead before Northern Colorado regrouped during a timeout while trailing 14–9. Afterward, they closed the gap and eventually won the set 25–21, helped by Isabel Bennett’s nine kills and .562 hitting percentage through two sets.

Northern Colorado continued its momentum in the third set, quickly building a lead that forced another Idaho State timeout. The Bears extended their advantage late in the set and finished with a 3-0 sweep to claim the championship.

With this win, Northern Colorado advances to the NCAA Tournament. They will find out their first-round opponent on Selection Sunday, November 30.

Three Bears—Isabel Bennett, Bella LePore, and Brynn Reines (named MVP)—were named to the All-Tournament Team alongside players from Weber State, Sacramento State, and Idaho State.
