Northern Colorado defeated Pacific 5-4 in the series finale at Bill Simoni Field on March 15.

The win marks an important result for Northern Colorado, improving their overall record to 14-15 and providing momentum as they prepare for upcoming games.

The Bears took an early lead in the third inning when KK Christie doubled and scored on a single by Amailee Morales. Ella Gonzales added a two-run double, putting Northern Colorado ahead 2-0. In the fifth inning, Christie singled again to start another rally, followed by another RBI hit from Morales and two more runs driven in by Gonzales, extending the lead to 5-0.

Pacific responded with four runs in the sixth inning, narrowing the gap to one run. However, Northern Colorado held on for the win. Ellyse Hydock pitched 5.1 innings and allowed four runs (three earned) on four hits to earn the win. Grace Algrim recorded the final five outs and secured her third save of the season. Christie and Gonzales each had two hits, with Gonzales driving in three runs during the game.

Northern Colorado will return home next weekend to host Saint Mary’s for a three-game series at Gloria Rodriguez Field.

The Rally Starters Club continues to support UNC Softball by providing resources such as enhanced training equipment, advanced technology, and travel opportunities that help improve student-athlete experiences both on and off the field.
