Northern Colorado women’s golf secured a runner-up finish at the Big Sky Conference Championship after three days of competition, according to an April 22 announcement.
The result highlights the team’s strong performance throughout the season and its ability to compete among the top programs in the conference.
Led by Olivia Salonek, who shot a two-under 69 in the final round and tied for third individually, Northern Colorado maintained contention for the title until the final holes. Samantha Colombine also contributed with a closing-round 69, finishing one-under for a tie for fifth place. Timbre Shehee added a one-under 70 in her last round to secure eighth place overall. Jaci Hartman finished tied for sixteenth, while Carolina Fallotico tied for twentieth after posting a three-over 74.
The Bears ended with an even-par team score, trailing only Northern Arizona’s five-under finish. The final leaderboard showed Montana State in third (+15), followed by Portland State (+29) and Sacramento State (+31). Other teams included Idaho (+33), Weber State (+40), Idaho State (+52), Montana (+65), and Eastern Washington (+73).
The season was marked by multiple top-10 finishes and new program records for Northern Colorado. According to the team statement, “The second-place finish caps a strong and historic 2025–26 season for the Bears.” The Birdie Club was credited as playing “a vital role in elevating the UNC Women’s Golf program by providing resources that enhance training and travel.”
