Northern Colorado women’s golf will travel to Goodyear, Arizona, for the Big Sky Conference Championship Tournament at the Wigwam Golf Resort, according to an April 17 announcement. The three-day event will see ten teams competing for both team and individual conference titles.
The tournament is significant as it marks the culmination of what has been described as one of the most successful regular seasons in program history for Northern Colorado. The Bears recorded ten top-ten finishes during the season, including four within the top five. They also set a new program record with a season scoring average of 299.43 and achieved their lowest-ever team round score with a 279 at the Golf Iconic Classic.
Individually, Timbre Shehee posted a single-season stroke average of 73.23, which is now the lowest in program history. Samantha Colombine also moved into the top five all-time for single-season stroke averages at Northern Colorado with her mark of 74.54.
The lineup representing Northern Colorado at this year’s championship includes Shehee, Colombine, Olivia Salonek, Jaci Hartman, and Carolina Fallotico. Logan Culpepper will serve as an alternate.
Support from organizations like The Birdie Club has contributed resources toward training and travel for UNC Women’s Golf athletes this season. Fans can follow live scoring on Scoreboard and get updates through UNC women’s golf’s official Instagram page.
