Northern Colorado will begin its Big Sky Conference schedule after completing non-conference play with a 9–4 record. The Bears are set to face Montana State on New Year’s Day and then host Montana on January 3 at Bank of Colorado Arena.

The team recently lost a close game to Sam Houston but finished non-conference games with positive momentum. Three players have been key contributors: Neenah George leads the team with an average of 13.9 points per game, Tatum West adds 11.2 points, and Aniah Hall contributes 10.1 points per game.

During non-conference play, Northern Colorado averaged 71.8 points per game and shot 43.2 percent from the field. The Bears currently rank fourth in offensive production and second in defensive performance within the Big Sky Conference. They are also second in scoring margin, indicating their ability to control games as they enter conference play.

Montana State, Northern Colorado’s first conference opponent, has a 7–4 record this season and recently won against Hawai’i on the road. Taylee Chirrick is leading the Bobcats with an average of 17.5 points per game.

Montana, which visits Greeley after playing Northern Arizona, holds a 3–8 record for the season so far. Mack Konig leads the Grizzlies in scoring at 16.4 points per game.
