Northern Colorado women’s basketball achieved a decisive win against Chadron State on Friday night at Bank of Colorado Arena, finishing with a score of 114-47. The Bears established control early in the game by using full-court pressure to disrupt the Eagles’ offense and quickly convert turnovers into points. By the end of the first quarter, Northern Colorado led 27-6.
During the second quarter, effective ball movement helped players like Julia Riley and Heather Baymon each reach double figures in scoring for the half. Neenah George led all scorers at halftime with 13 points. On defense, Baymon collected four steals and Gabi Fields added three, contributing to a halftime lead of 54-21.
The Bears maintained their momentum after halftime, turning more steals into baskets and forcing an early timeout from Chadron State in the third quarter. With contributions from multiple players, including timely three-pointers by Baymon, Northern Colorado extended its advantage to 85-30 entering the final period.
In the fourth quarter, Tatum West recorded a double-double as several team members contributed across various statistical categories. The Bears ended the game shooting 56.3 percent from the field and tallying 29 assists.
Final individual statistics included: Heather Baymon with 23 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and five steals; Tatum West with 19 points and ten rebounds; Neenah George with 16 points; Aniah Hall with twelve points; Julia Riley with ten points; and Ruthie Loomis-Goltl also adding ten points.
Northern Colorado will next play Kansas City on Wednesday, December 3 at Bank of Colorado Arena as part of the Big Sky-Summit Challenge tournament.
