Northern Colorado women’s basketball team secured a 71–60 victory over Omaha in the Big Sky–Summit League Challenge, improving their season record to 8–2. The Bears started strong with six unanswered points but saw Omaha tie the game by the end of the first quarter. Julia Riley and Erin Powell each contributed six points early on.
In the second quarter, Tatum West helped Northern Colorado regain momentum, scoring four quick points and collecting 10 rebounds by halftime—seven of them offensive. Erin Powell led all scorers at halftime with 11 points and three rebounds, helping her team take a 30–22 lead into the break.
After halftime, Northern Colorado extended its advantage with consecutive three-pointers, pushing Omaha to call an early timeout in the third quarter. Julia Riley continued to play efficiently as UNC increased its lead to 50–35 heading into the final period.
Omaha attempted a late comeback in the fourth quarter but was held off by timely scores from Aniah Hall and Julia Riley. The Bears finished shooting 36 percent from the field and recorded 41 rebounds, 15 assists, and received significant contributions from their bench.
Julia Riley led all players with 17 points, while Aniah Hall added 16 points and five rebounds. Erin Powell scored 14 points; Tatum West contributed eight points and eleven rebounds; Gabi Fields had six points and five rebounds.
The Bears now have a three-game winning streak. Their next game is scheduled for December 16 against Colorado in Boulder.
