Northern Colorado women’s basketball team secured an 80–60 win over the Vikings at Bank of Colorado Arena, marking their fourth consecutive victory and their best start to conference play since the 2016–17 season. The Bears now hold a 4–1 record in conference games.

The game began with Northern Colorado applying strong defensive pressure, which led to transition opportunities and a significant 23–7 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, Heather Baymon contributed with accurate shooting from long range and led all scorers with 15 points in the first half. The Bears dominated on rebounds and forced turnovers that resulted in fast-break points, increasing their lead by halftime.

The team’s defense continued to be effective in the third quarter, generating steals and creating open shots through efficient ball movement. Tatum West played a key role on both offense and defense, finishing three quarters with 11 points and nine rebounds as UNC expanded its advantage to 65–45.

In the final period, Northern Colorado maintained control by drawing fouls and converting free throws while managing the clock to close out the win.

Baymon finished with 23 points, three rebounds, and five steals. West achieved her fifth double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Neenah George scored 15 points, while Julia Riley added another 10.

Looking ahead, Northern Colorado will host Sacramento State on Saturday at Bank of Colorado Arena with tip-off set for 2 p.m. MT.
