Northern Colorado women’s basketball secured a 55–41 victory over Weber State on Thursday night at Bank of Colorado Arena, aided by a strong third quarter and balanced team performance.

The Bears, now holding a 17–7 overall record and an 8–3 mark in the Big Sky Conference, broke open a close contest after halftime. Outscoring the Wildcats 21–11 in the third period, Northern Colorado extended their four-point halftime lead into double digits.

Aniah Hall led Northern Colorado with 13 points and five rebounds coming off the bench. Tatum West contributed 11 points, six rebounds, and three steals. Neenah George added eight points along with six rebounds, four assists, and four steals.

Defensively, the Bears limited Weber State to just 26.1 percent shooting from the field (12-for-46) and only 18.2 percent from beyond the arc (4-for-22). The Bears forced 24 turnovers and converted those into 22 points.

The second half began with Northern Colorado increasing its defensive pressure and scoring efficiently in transition. Erin Powell hit a key three-pointer during this stretch while Heather Baymon and Hall scored fast-break baskets that widened the gap. The Bears shot over 56 percent in the third quarter.

Weber State tried to respond in the final period but was unable to overcome Northern Colorado’s defense. The Bears closed out the game at the free-throw line for a comfortable win.

A notable milestone occurred as Aniah Hall surpassed 1,000 career points at Northern Colorado during Thursday’s game. She reached this mark on a free throw in the fourth quarter.

Next up for Northern Colorado is a home game against Idaho State on Saturday, February 7 at 2 p.m. MT.
