Northern Colorado women’s basketball secured a 69-66 win over Weber State in Ogden, Utah, on Saturday. This victory is the team’s third straight Big Sky Conference win and brings their overall record to 12-5, with a 3-1 mark in conference play.
Four players from Northern Colorado scored in double figures. Tatum West led the team with 16 points and 10 rebounds, marking her fourth double-double of the season. Neenah George contributed 14 points, Heather Baymon added 13, and Aniah Hall finished with 11 points.
The Bears started strong by forcing turnovers and capitalizing on fast-break opportunities. They held a narrow lead of 19–18 after the first quarter, helped by five early points from George.
Weber State briefly took control in the second quarter with a three-pointer and a layup. However, Northern Colorado responded quickly by attacking inside and finding success in transition play. During this period, West achieved her career milestone of reaching 500 rebounds. By halftime, she had tallied 12 points and six rebounds, helping her team to a two-point advantage at the break.
Both teams continued to compete closely after halftime. Northern Colorado made effective use of second-chance scoring opportunities in the third quarter and built a ten-point lead heading into the final period.
In the fourth quarter, timely offensive rebounds allowed Northern Colorado to manage both pace and clock. Despite a late comeback attempt by Weber State, the Bears maintained their composure to close out the game.
The Bears will return home to face Portland State on Thursday, January 15. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. MST.
