The Northern Colorado women’s basketball team is preparing for its final non-conference road trip of the season. The Bears will first travel to California to play UC Davis on Saturday, December 20, and then head to Texas to face Sam Houston on Monday, December 22.
In their most recent game, the Bears faced in-state rival Colorado at the CU Events Center. Despite showing strong effort throughout all four quarters, Northern Colorado fell short with a 79–62 loss.
Looking ahead, these upcoming games against UC Davis and Sam Houston mark the first meetings between Northern Colorado and both programs. The team aims to use this opportunity to establish their style of play and secure wins before entering conference competition.
UC Davis currently holds an 8–3 record this season and remains undefeated at home. Ryann Bennett leads the Aggies with an average of 17.6 points per game and a field goal percentage of 47.9 percent. As a unit, they are averaging 38.2 rebounds and 72 points per contest.
Sam Houston enters their matchup with a 5–3 record overall and is also unbeaten at home this season. Their leading scorer is Fanta Kone, who averages 11.1 points per game while shooting 52.3 percent from the field.
