Northern Colorado women’s basketball set for regular-season finale against Montana

Northern Colorado women’s basketball will travel to Missoula, Montana, on Monday for its last regular-season game of the 2026 season against the Montana Grizzlies. The game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. MT and will be available for live streaming on ESPN+. Updates will also be posted on the team’s official social media channels.

In their previous outing, Northern Colorado lost to the Idaho Vandals with a score of 55–41 at ICCU Arena. The Bears led after the first quarter, helped by Tatum West’s eighth double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Neenah George contributed seven points and three assists early in the game. However, offensive difficulties in the second and third quarters allowed Idaho to gain control. The Vandals finished strong by outscoring Northern Colorado 20–10 in the fourth quarter. Hope Hassmann led Idaho with 12 points and eight rebounds, while Kyra Gardner also achieved a double-double.

Montana enters Monday’s matchup with an overall record of 8-20 and a conference record of 5-12. The Grizzlies average 62.4 points per game, shooting 38.4% from the field, 31.1% from three-point range, and 76.5% from the free-throw line. The team attempts nearly 30 three-pointers per game, relying heavily on perimeter shooting. Mack Konig leads Montana with an average of 14.6 points per game; Avery Waddington averages 13.6 points, and Jocelyn Land adds another 10.9 points per contest. The Grizzlies collect an average of 31.4 rebounds and distribute about 10.8 assists each game.

In terms of their all-time series since 2008, Montana holds a lead over Northern Colorado with a record of 22 wins to UNC’s 18 wins. Their most recent meeting was on January 3, when Northern Colorado won by a score of 77–58 in Greeley. In their last ten games against each other, both teams have five wins each.

Several experienced players from Northern Colorado are reaching new milestones within the program’s history books:
– Gabi Fields is now second all-time in career steals (251), fifth in career assists (362), tied for seventh in games played (123), second in games started (122), and tied for fifth in single-season steals (72).
– Aniah Hall is tied for ninth in games played (121), sixth in career blocks (93), and thirteenth in career rebounds (623).
– Tatum West ranks fourteenth all-time in career rebounds (618) and seventh for single-season steals (64).

After this final regular-season match-up, Northern Colorado will prepare for postseason play at the Big Sky Conference Tournament taking place March 7–11 at Idaho Central Arena in Boise, Idaho.
