Northern Colorado guard Quinn Denker has been named the Big Sky Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the second week in a row, following his performances against Air Force and Regis.
Denker, a graduate guard, recorded 38 points and 13 assists while shooting 68.7 percent from the field over 54 minutes in those games. His contributions have helped Northern Colorado achieve its best start to a season since 2018-19.
His statistics place him among the leaders in both the conference and nationally. Denker is averaging 18.3 points per game, which ranks second in the Big Sky Conference. He leads the conference with 6.5 assists per game, which also ranks him fifteenth nationally. He has totaled 52 assists so far this season, directly contributing to 28 percent of Northern Colorado’s total scoring output. Denker has scored at least 20 points in four games and recorded five or more assists in seven games. His assist-to-turnover ratio of +2.6 is fourth-best in the conference, and he is also among the top ten players in free-throw percentage (.833) and minutes played (31.5 per game).
This recognition marks Denker’s second career weekly honor, both earned consecutively this season. He is the first Big Sky student-athlete to receive back-to-back weekly awards since Idaho State’s Dylan Darling last season.
