Weld County issued the following announcement on Aug. 5.
The next step in finalizing the High Plains Blvd. transportation study is to review the access control plan and receive public comment, particularly from residents along the project corridor. The transportation study, previously referred to the I-25 parallel arterial project, is a future arterial connection extending from WCR 9.5 and Larimer County Road 3 alignments north to Ronald Reagan Blvd.
A recorded presentation by the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) was recently released, which describes the project details and is now available on the county website.
Anyone interested in commenting on the plan is asked to watch the presentation and then reach out to county staff their comments via one of two ways:
- Sign up for an in-person meeting with project staff through the appointment link on the High Plains Blvd. web page (noted above).
- Email comments to erelford@weldgov.com.
During the first open house for this project, which was held last March, Weld and Larimer Counties along with the towns of Mead, Berthoud, Johnstown, and city of Loveland along with the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), discussed the preliminary design effort for a new arterial roadway. That discussion led to the finalized alignment and engineering design for 30% of the corridor through those communities. Because this is a developer-driven study, municipalities will rely on developers to take this plan and finalize the design for construction along this alignment in an expedited fashion while maintaining the cohesion of the corridor and agreed upon access points.
