The University of Northern Colorado baseball team announced on Mar. 12 that its home opening series against St. Thomas has been rescheduled because of inclement weather in the area.

The change affects the timing and structure of the originally planned three-game series. The first game will still take place on Friday at 2 p.m., as initially scheduled. However, instead of separate games on Saturday and Sunday, the remaining two games will now be played as a doubleheader on Saturday. The first game of the doubleheader is set to begin at 11 a.m., with the second starting about 40 minutes after the conclusion of the first. Sunday’s game has been removed from the schedule.

These adjustments are intended to ensure player safety and accommodate for anticipated weather disruptions over the weekend.

The university also highlighted ongoing support opportunities through its Diamond Club, which helps fund facility improvements such as the Jackson Field Turf Project and provides resources for student-athletes.
