Brock Wisne led Northern Colorado to a narrow 78-77 victory over Northern Arizona on Saturday at Bank of Colorado Arena. Wisne scored a career-high 38 points, making 15 of 21 shots and adding five rebounds. His performance ranks as the third-highest single-game point total in the program’s history and moved him into 10th place on the school’s all-time scoring list with 1,367 points. He is now fifth in field goals made for Northern Colorado, with 569.

Northern Colorado led for most of the game, holding a 43-41 lead at halftime after shooting over 53 percent in the first half. The Bears built momentum early through strong finishes from Ring Nyeri and continued offensive production from Wisne.

In the second half, the Bears extended their lead to double digits using efficient play inside and timely rebounding. Ibu Yamazaki contributed 10 points, including two three-pointers. Quinn Denker added 13 points, eight rebounds, and four assists to help steady the team late in the game. Nyeri finished with eight points and ten rebounds as Northern Colorado outscored Northern Arizona in the paint by a margin of 50-34.

Northern Arizona mounted a comeback attempt behind Chris Komin’s 34 points but fell short in the final minute as Northern Colorado secured key possessions down the stretch to maintain their one-point advantage.

Brock Wisne’s performance also resulted in notable movement up several school record lists. He now sits tenth all-time in scoring for UNC and fifth in field goals made.

Zach Bloch continues his ascent up multiple career categories for Northern Colorado, ranking seventh all-time in three-pointers made (195), sixth in three-point attempts (498), and tied for fourth in games played (129). He is also nearing top-ten marks for career steals (98) and single-season three-pointers made (85).

Quinn Denker remains among UNC’s most productive playmakers, currently third on the single-season assists list with 188.

Northern Colorado will travel next week for their final regular season road games against Eastern Washington on February 26 and Idaho on February 28. Both games will be available via ESPN+ and Pirate Radio.
