City of Fort Morgan issued the following announcement on Nov. 12.
Platte Avenue just east of Main Street will be closed to all traffic in both directions for all of next week as repairs to a water line and related underground infrastructure are undertaken.
Work is scheduled to start at 7 a.m. Monday, Nov. 16, in the 100 block of East Platte (US 34).
This closure is expected to last through Sunday, Nov. 22, due to extensive improvements that must be performed in order to isolate the leak to be repaired. The exact length of the closure will depend on conditions and the progress of the work.
Traffic detours including alternate truck routes will be posted ahead of the work zone, but motorists are advised to plan an alternate route ahead of time and to completely avoid the area if possible.
